WP/GM/Embaraluwa Mihindu Kanishta Vidyalaya

WP/GM/Embaraluwa Mihindu Kanishta Vidyalaya school was first established in 1927 under the name “Bauddha Balika Viduhala” in a temporary cadjan-roofed building in Embaraluwa village, Weliweriya, in the Gampaha District. At its inception, the school had only 60 students and four teachers. First principal of the school was Mrs. Rupawathi.

With the generous land donations from local residents and the support of various benefactors, the school has gradually developed over the years. At present, it functions under the Gampaha Education Division of the Gampaha Education Zone in the Western Province. It is located within the 242 B1 Ambaraluwa South Grama Niladhari Division and is known as WP/GM/Embaraluwa Mihindu Kanishta Vidyalaya. Today, it stands as a well-reputed school in the area, with approximately 415 students and a staff of 23 teachers.

The school conducts teaching and learning activities in 16 classes, with two parallel classes each from Grade 1 to Grade 5 and one class each from Grade 6 to Grade 11.
