WP/GM/Al Badriya Maha Vidyalaya

Al Badria Maha Vidyalaya is located in a beautiful village on the right side between two main Muslim mosques. It is situated around 150 meters from the Kahatowitha junction on the Veyangoda-Kirindiwela road. This school is in the Attanagalla division and in the Gampaha Educaional Zone of the Western Province.

In the year 1889, the school was run in one building in the mosque grounds and in the year 1960, it was brought to the place where the school is at present.

In the building that is the main hall of the school today, the school which started with nearly 100 students from grades 1-11, currently has nearly 1000 children and a staff of about 50 teachers. It has grown into a school that conducts classes for Arts and Commerce streams for the Advanced Level students. 

We also conduct extra classes for the students targeting professional courses like AAT and the students have produced good results in these examinations. 

In 2023, for the first time, students have been given the opportunity to study in English medium from grade 6 onwards.

It is also special that 67% of the students who appeared for the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in the year 2023 qualified for A-level.

In co-curriculum filed lot of students have achieved Zonal, Provincial and National level places in different completions in different languages. 

With the dedication of our administration body, teachers, students, parents and past pupils we march forward to the goal even with several unsolved problems and difficulties especially in physical resources.
